(Daughter of Western Ghats) The journey started on a vivid morning and in scorching sun… A picturesque hill town nestled in the lap of Western Ghats… We had to cross the famous twin villages of Palakkad district (Nenmara and Valangi) en routing to our destination. One of the largest earthen dam (Pothundi) lies in the foothills of Nelliyampathy.. The undulating corners of the hairpin bends would give you a bird’s eye view of the fresh water reservoir.. Gibber of Monkeys and cry of Hornbills were welcoming the tourists through the winding ghat roads.. The valleys were full of lofty Teak woods, tiny shrubs and the bamboo music made by the wintry wind caressing the stems… One must visit this enthralling destination feeling the aroma from the tea, coffee and orange plantations.. The crispy coldness and lush green plants would leave you oblivious….
